I hate to do it, but I need to do it…

The time has come to rebuild StreamRift into what it was meant to be. The biggest problem with this project has always been “How do I monetize being the most open and uncensored website?” Of course, getting users is a challenge too, but by having a good platform that solves actual problems, I think that can make it easy. The monetization, boy, that’s hard.

What changed? A few things.

  1. PayPal lets you buy and sell crypto.
  2. Doge and other coins have become quite popular and going mainstream.
  3. I have a lot of experience with the underlying technologies and approaches so we can build in an experience that is more like paypal and less like programming a VCR 😉
  4. I have some other projects I am working on and I want to practice in an environment like this one, so no better place than here.

So what does this mean?

It means user profiles and content may be purged. It means all the content on the website may be wiped and purged. At latest count we’ve had over 500,000 visits on this version. So, with that said, I think we’ll mark this version (4?) a success and move on towards the brave new future of crypto and a financially independent internet.
